Airbnb global commissioned me to create a series of illustrations for Europe's city guide. They want me to focus on vividly presenting citizens' diversity and daily lives instead of conveying an image full of stereotypical landmarks. Meanwhile, It also needs to fit the core values of the brand.

I try to create a combination of street views as an outsider. Because I never went to those cities before, most of the citizens I painted are based on my sketches on Shanghai's streets and internet research. Globalization makes our lifestyles more similar, so this topic might be more realistic if I describe what happens around me, like coffee chat, biking, or just walking.

South Africa city guide for Airbnb. I’m deeply fascinated by its colorful buildings and decorations, as well as its biological diversity. So I decided to use tropical and fruity colors to present my imagination of those cities.

A commission series for BLANCPAIN. I enter this grand ball of diamonds in the moonlight and have a magical encounter.

The backdrop pays homage to Betty Fichte, the woman who launched the Ladybird watch collection, and Marilyn Monroe, the era's star. I used the silhouette because I wanted her to represent the ICON's sparkling individual story and the group of women becoming role models for themselves - every real and sparkling woman.

The overall composition of the artwork takes the form of a radial pattern, symbolizing an ideal world. This concept highlights BYD's technological innovation exploration while emphasizing the brand's ability to provide customers with security and inclusiveness.

Surrounding the central composition, there are plants, flowers, stars, and figures using technological devices. Each element represents BYD's core values of "green environmentalism," "technological innovation," and "youthful vitality." By merging technology with romance, the artwork also suggests that green transportation will lead people toward a more expansive and promising future.

Here is a series of illustrations created for Modern Weekly magazine, featuring Cartier's new jewelry collection and retail store in K11 shopping mall Shanghai.

I was inspired by Cartier's symbolic leopard and fascinating night view in Shanghai. Compared to the noisy and crowded daytime, night Shanghai shows the other side of modern and elegance.

The enchanting world of Christmas snow globes inspires the design concept. Each cup features a unique scene with characters celebrating the festive season, turning every cup into a miniature story filled with warmth and holiday spirit.  

A particularly exciting challenge for this project was the five-color printing limitation, which required a creative approach to balance composition, contrast, and details. This constraint pushed me to explore new ways of using color while ensuring each design felt vibrant and full of life.  Seeing these cups come to life in stores has been incredibly rewarding, and I hope they bring a little extra joy to every coffee moment this season!

I created and animated a series of Valentine's Day themed digital illustrations for DG. They were inspired by my favourite cartoon Snoopy, which chocolate, desserts, gifts and cinema always remind me of.

A set of illustration menu about desserts for a trendy restaurant on Nanjing East Road in Shanghai.

ECCO commissioned me with this AD work to promote new shoes for the Dragon New Year. They wanted me to tell an exciting and engaging story incorporating traditional Chinese culture while highlighting the shoes' design inspired by dragon scales.

I think memories of Chinese New Year are covered with a warm yellow color filter. So, in this creation, I chose the warm colors of yellow and red as the primary colors. At the same time, based on the traditional Chinese dragon, I incorporated more vivid lines so that the dragon is no longer a distant totem of the Chinese Zodiac but a symbol we can imagine and even get close to.

When the dragon soars above the city, overlooking the lights of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon will be a great success.

Sally Rooney's novel Normal People inspired me to represent an understanding of intimacy and self-growth through the symbolism of swings, flowers, and matching clothing.

I created some gifs for GUCCI Chinese Valentine's Day collection. Apples and hearts remind me of the story in Greek mythology. The glittering golden apples were used to celebrate the wedding of Zeus and Hera. At that time the sky turned green, yellow, and red, just like the colors of the apple tree when it was full of apples. In ancient Greek custom, apples are also a symbol of love.

Kate Spade and Yespai Gallery commissioned me to create a series of illustrations for celebrating Chinese traditional Valentine’s Day.

My creative inspiration comes from the Chinese idiom "Love the House and the Crow," which means "He who loves a woman loves the crow on her house." In my opinion, "house" and "wu" not only evoke contemporary thoughts about "love" in tandem but also provide a visual space and time to tell the story of Valentine's Day. When I named the work Love Me Love My Bag, I quoted the English translation: "Love me love my dog." Whether it is a bag or a dog, love all loveliness; all deserve to be loved.

Lululemon commissioned me to create the key visual illustration for the Chinese New Year campaign.

I start my design by asking myself if any memorable moment or symbol in my memory can express New Year's wishes. The traditional form of sending a message with something is often more intimate and inclusive, like the Chinese knot. So I provided a creative way that could be extended infinitely through an understanding of traditional 'weaving', where all the elements could be freely combined.

I did a set of illustrations for Massimo Dutti on the Chinese Valentine's Day campaign. I was inspired by Joan Miro, the most famous Spanish artist, and beautiful ready-to-wear clothes and decorations from MD, telling our familiar traditional Chinese fairytale in an abstract and expressionistic way.

From "red lines" to "love letters," inspiration for writing flashes through the hands of eros. I created a romantic story for MONTBLANC, and the illustration is about the "fragments" of Chinese Valentine's Day, linked by a hand-painted "red line."

The "red line" symbolizes being together in the context of traditional Chinese culture.

The objects hidden within include hearts, stars, tears, love letters, willow branches, roses, etc., which can be interpreted as symbols of intimate relationships between China and the West, all strung together by the line to form a picture of what is being drawn in the pen of the lover.

I was super excited to be one of the invited illustrators to work on the Nike app comeback campaign, creating a series of four-story stickers related to the new app and designing background patterns inspired by tennis, the 50th anniversary, sneaker matching, and pop culture under the theme of Getting the whole story.

Chinese Valentine's Day campaign for NET-A-PORTER. This series of illustrations is inspired by the artwork Perfect Lover by Felix Gonzalez, a contemporary artist I love immensely. "We are synchronized, now and forever," the image connects four stories through the symbolism of "circle,” telling a story of lovers who meet from the chase.

I received a commission from Otter Box to create a limited edition phone case to celebrate the arrival of the Dragon New Year. The collection has already hit Apple Stores in regions worldwide that will be celebrating the Spring Festival.

Patron commissioned me to create a limited illustration package for Year of Oxen in 2020. I’m inspired by the woodblock New Year painting. As door gods, they have different responsibilities. For example, a military god with a hairy oxen’s head, always holding a sword in his hand to avoid illness, and bad things coming from outside, or a gentle civil god with a legendary treasure representing money like RUYI or YUAN BAO, attracting luck and wealth to come in.

Considering this picture will be used in Spring, I add some patterns of flowers, agaves, and bees in the corner as decorations to convey a vibrant and hopeful year is upcoming.

I’m deeply fascinated by the traditional folk art in Switzerland. That kind of artwork illustrates senses of Alpine rural life, floral design, and village festival, creating a balance and dreamful wonderland in harmony and symmetry, filled with folk motifs.

Surprisingly, we have some very similar folk artworks in China, presenting a natural and cheerful lifestyle. So I believe that the residents in two countries may understand the other side’s culture via a familiar signal from their owner’s, like some mix-match traditional elements based on the symmetry composition. But I still want to be more graphic and modernism style.

The main visual illustration I created for UNIQLO's "Summer in the North" is now available in the main shops.

Since I grew up in the northwest, I had memories and familiar flavors in my mind when I drew this theme, such as "watermelon plucked from the water," "skewering at a beer stall at night," "apricot skin water to relieve the heat," and so on. "Of course, with economic development and the flattening of information, many popular ways of escaping the heat have made the gap between the stereotypical North and South lifestyles smaller and smaller.

Northern folk crafts such as peasant painting, patchwork, lotus bags, noodle figures, and the patterns of Majiayao pottery have given me a lot of creative inspiration. This information is dispersed into the stylistic approach and details of the images. I want to use this visual language to respond to the exploration of the heritage and innovation of local culture and to leave some traces for the audience who understand and tolerate different voices to continue.

UNIQLO China commissioned me to create a series of key visual illustrations for the new store at Taiyuan Zhonglou Street. Based on the theme of "Joyland," I made this artwork by blending tradition and pop culture, using Chinese painting and contemporary art as the inspiration.

Three sets of exclusive motifs, including recreational food customs, dialects, and sustainable lifestyles, will be used, as UTme is open for customizing T-shirts. The cute design team also made a super fun regional limited-tasting cup gift using my pattern!
