It's a commissioned work from Penguins Random house, creating a series of illustrations for the 2022 calendar based on famous novels and the writer's hometown around the world. My part is about Chinese writer Lu Xun and his hometown in Shaoxing, a city full of rivers and traditional gardens.

I want to paint traditional Chinese elements in a fusion way, combining Chinese painting's construction and content with bright color and simple texture, to portray a Chinese fairyland.
